================================================================ Title : Elevator.wad (for Doom 2) Author : Chris Wright Email Address : cswright@sfu.ca Description : This level is meant for deathmatch, although it's fun to play by yourself. It features an enormously tall elevator which takes you through the level, made up entirely of terraces and ledges. It has a simplistic design, and although its not one of my best WADs, it's been given high praise by those who've tried it. It's perhaps the only level which covers more vertical ground than horizonatal, giving it some distinction. Additional Credits to : Matthew Ayres, creator of WADED, and the fine programmers at ID for producing DOOM ][. ================================================================ * Play Information * Map # : Map 1 Single Player : No Cooperative 2-4 Player : No Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Yes - Best with no monsters Difficulty Settings : All New Sounds : No New Wall Textures : No New Sprites : No New Animated Graphics : No New Music : No Demos Replaced : None * Construction * Base : New level from scratch. I disclaim all warranties as to this software, whether express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, functionality, data integrity or protection. * Where to get this WAD * Wherever you got this text file! * Other Information * In Deathmatch, each player starts in an ammo-filled room with no visible exit. However, walking around the room will reveal a teleporter which transports you to the main part of the level. There are two elevator buttons; one makes it go high-speed, the other makes it go normal speed. It takes a couple minutes for the elevator to get down, so be patient, and try not to fall off while it's going off! If you like the level but find the waits unbearable, you could turn some of the terraces into small elevators, so you can work your way up to the top a second way. If you know anything at all about WAD editing, making the change is VERY easy. I hereby give permisson for anyone to make the previously mentioned change. I may make the change myself soon, and release a new version of ELEVATOR.WAD. PLEASE distribute this WAD on the Internet if you have access. Although I have an account, I'm unable to upload it myself. I wish this WAD to become widespread, and I would be very grateful to anyone who does so.
