ATTENTION!!!!!! READ THIS WITH WORDWRAP ON!!!!!!! (IN EDIT MENU) ================================================================ Title : House Hunting Filename(s) : HOUSEHNT.WAD ALIENFX.WAD Author : Alasdair MacKenzie Email Address : TheMacKenzie@compuserve.com (PLEASE send comments/abuse/underwear) Misc. Author Info : Guy who still likes Doom even after Quake (wow!) Description : This is a deathmatch only level for Doom 2. It is based on the layout of my house, and is primarily designed for 2 players. I know there are loads of d/match levels with a "someone's house" theme, but this is different. In this level you not only have to put up with your (hopefully) psychotic opponent, but also with the horrific infestation of Aliens which have overrun the place! Just imagine creeping up to a room, shotgun in hand, ready to give your buddy a few more holes to play with when all of a sudden a hissing black shape leaps at you and starts to rip your guts out. Then, as you fight the creature off, the aforementioned "buddy" appears round the corner and blows you away while you're distracted! This level basically puts a slightly more hectic slant on a normal deathmatch, carefully using monsters to make for a frantic, bloody game. For full playing instruction, see NOTES (below) Additional Credits to : Chris and Gav for playtesting (Hmm, testing. Yes. That's what it was. Testing. Sure.) Justin Fisher for the Alien graphics/sounds (I tried e-mailing you, but I got no reply) ================================================================ * Play Information * Map Number : MAP 01 Single Player : Well, if you just wanna see some Aliens :) Cooperative 2-4 Player : Not designed for this at all Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Oh yeah! (Best with 2 Players) Difficulty Settings : Not implemented (Take what you're given, Ya Bass!) New Sounds : Yes New Graphics : Yes (The Aliens) New Music : Nope Demos Replaced : None NOTES Installing: To play House Hunting properly, unzip househnt.zip into your Doom 2 directory then run HUNT.BAT. This will run Deusf to make the graphics useable. Then all you have to do is start your game with the HOUSEHNT.WAD and ALIENFX.WAD, and bingo! Playing: This level is designed for 2-player deathmatch. At first, there are no Aliens around, and this is because to release them both players have to work together. One player has to go to the garage and stand beside my Warhammer table, while the other goes to the Skin Room (you'll know it when you see it!) and pulls the switch on the wall. This lowers half of the Warhammer table, enabling the guy in the garage to activate the revealed "Skully" panel and so release the ALIENS!!! Also, you must work together in order to exit as well. The switch in the bathroom opens the exit door outside, and you only get one chance at it! Have Fun!!! (Oh, and play with RESPAWN MONSTERS ON!!!) Single Player: To release the Aliens if you're on you're own, go outside to the far right corner of the garden. Find two trees which are right against the wall and close together (near the Blur Sphere) and active the wall between them. This should release the bugs. This walls section is blocked by trees in a multi-player game. * Construction * Base : New Level From Scratch (Unless someone else made one out of my house too :) Editor(s) used : ADE II ( A cool DEU port for Doom 2) Known Bugs : The Aliens * Copyright / Permissions * Authors may NOT use this level as a base to build additional levels.
