New map I just finished (Edit: A long time ago but couldn't upload it then), heavily scripted but with multiple ways to get through the level. Includes a few new objects as well. I reccomend you play it in a higher resolution, or you'll be wreaked by bad guys you can't see. Enjoy!

Re-edit: Now I can upload stuff. So here it is! I'm pretty sure I included all the files for the new objects, but if anyone has trouble just post here and I'll fix it. It's set up as a mod, so unzip it and put the 'LandingZone' folder in your M2 main folder.

A tip, put it in a mod folder with a mod.ini file so that we don't end up with more objects in our base folder. This way the game boot won't slow down when you are playing standard Meteor 2.

I'm just trying it now. Because I'm running it under WINE (under Linux) the framerate is bad so I'm having to drop the screen res down. I however noticed your use of the word 'decimate' in the briefing.

Love it - the map is excellently laid out and having to time coming out of cover at the end to plant the c4 on the Doom tanks was especially fun. Along the way you can also get help or learn more about the situation ie two tanks being online.

The only gripe I have with the map is there are no roaming soldiers. The only start moving/become activated when you see them onscreen, so they would stay in one place until the player finds them. Guarding soldiers are boring to kill, sometimes you just ignore and walk past if they are looking the other way.

Other than that the medics are a bit hard to move out of the confined passageways and a lot of object-labels can't be seen because they are under roof sectors.

Good points, maybe I'll do a Mark II version and put that up. I never thought about activating the roaming soldiers at the start of the map. I'm going home this weekend for thanksgiving, maybe I can do it then.

What I was meaning to say was it would be nicer if there was some roaming soldiers and that they wouldn't be a mapping-nuisance because they only activate once onscreen.

Okay, I've made a new version and uploaded it in place of the original one. Includes more roaming soldiers, a destroyed sprite for the Doom Tank, a new crosshair (which I believe was taken from the "mod material" thread--thanks to whoever made it), modified sniper scope options (cause I've always hated the original green one), and a modified rocket projectile that is twice as fast as the original (mainly because I kept trying to shoot down the helicopter with the rocket launcher and it was always too slow). Enjoy.
